Discovering Aveiro: peddy paper for new EVS volunteers

7 Feb , 2015   Gallery

Discovering Aveiro – peddy paper challenge for new EVS volunteers, happened last week! The first challenge that our new EVS volunteers had to face was to find their way around the city of Aveiro, discover its flavours and and check out (almost) every corner. They had to: find out what ovos moles are, have one shot of traçadinho (mixture of anise and aguardiente), feed the ducks in Macaco park, travel to salinhas, took a picture at Bugas bikes, bike to the university and find out where the famous stairs in Aveiro are. Divided into two groups the competitive between each other. It was so much adrenaline! One afternoon and they already knew Aveiro.

Agora Aveiro received four EVS volunteers from 3 different countries – Jasna and Tea from Croatia, Wiola from Poland and Tanja from Latvia. They will be doing their voluntary service in our office, helping with our events and projects and spend six-seven months in our town, living like locals.

EVS is a great opportunity for anyone under 30 to spend up to one year abroad. For more information about how YOU can do your EVS, see here or contact us at: agora.aveiro(at)gmail.com
