During four months, Tibor will mostly collaborate on our big TEDxAveiro conference, designing contents, making videos and helping with anything needed. In the meantime, he has been joining other regular activities of Agora Aveiro, like Language Exchange Meetings, Café Suspenso, etc.
This is not Tibor’s first EVS. He already did a short term project, so he’s an experienced EVSer. When we asked him if he would recommend the EVS project to his friends he said:
“Well, I am doing it for the second time, so I definitely liked it! It’s a pity that I’m not staying longer, but four months is still enough time to get to know the local community, make friends, learn many things and, of course, travel around Portugal! I’m very much enjoying living in a town that is completely different from the one that I come from. I especially like the nature around it: Ria de Aveiro, the Atlantic Ocean and the forests. Here I can do sports I’ve never done before, like surfing, stand up paddle, etc. Regarding work, I think EVS is a great opportunity for young people to understand what they would like to do in their professional life. I can continue to presue new challenges in my field of work, like practice new programmes, learn some new skills that can later be useful when looking for jobs. Also, it’s not as strict as a real job, so we have more freedom to be creative. So, of course I recomend EVS to my friends, but they should plan it carefully, because the project should make sense for their personal and professional growth. It shouldn’t just be done in order to run away from your daily life, hometown or parents.”
Welcome, Tibor! We hope you will enjoy!
