Refresh your mind!

A visit to the fridge to quench thirst is common on hotter days, but what if in the place of fresh drinks were books? Under the motto "Refresh Your Mind", that is what it is possible to find next to Mercado Manuel Firmino

Estimated reading time: 1 minute and 35 seconds

Early June, the heat coming, the thirst to torment, we could use a ... book. That's right, the headquarters of Agora Aveiro is the inspiration and we decided to fill our refrigerators with books. Do not worry, we left one for you. What are we talking about anyway? Nothing less than the "Refresh Your Mind" project.

Agora Aveiro has prepared two special events for the 43rd edition of the Aveiro Book Fair. Between the 2nd and 10th of June, in the Manuel Firmino Market, readers of Aveiro will find original ways of facing the hot days. A visit to the fridge to quench thirst is common on hotter days, but what if fresh drinks were books? Under the motto "Refresh Your Mind", that is what it is possible to find next to Mercado Manuel Firmino. A refrigerator full of books for exchange, where anyone can leave a book and take another one of their interest.

This is a project that uses urban intervention to stimulate reading habits and highlight the importance of the book as a fundamental cultural asset for personal development. We want to emphasize to all colors the importance of books both personally and culturally. The unusual and appealing way in which we chose to develop and draw attention to different themes is already a brand image of Agora Aveiro in the city.

Within each book you can still find a bookmark with information about the "Living Library" to be held on June 10, also in the Manuel Firmino Market. An action in which "books" are people, migrants with fascinating stories to tell.

This is an action done in collaboration with the Nucleus of Students of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, with the Municipal Library of Aveiro and with the support of IPDJ - Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, I.P. and the City Hall of Aveiro.
