After the summer harvest, it's now time to replant the “Horta dos Guardiões da Natureza” with new vegetables suitable for the coldest months of the year. So, on November 4th, the “Guardiões da Natureza” returned to IPSS Florinhas do Vouga where, together with children aged 5 to 10, they planted leeks, onions, lettuces, various types of cabbage and even a small herb garden.

To add a touch of color to this activity, the “Guardiões da Natureza” revisited their “Oficina de Tintas Naturais”. In an interactive workshop, participants learned how it is possible, with products from the garden and a little bit of science, to obtain vibrant colors that allow you to unleash your creativity and produce authentic works of art.

These activities marked the end of the 2024 edition of the “Guardiões da Natureza”. During the three years I've been involved in this project, this was the year in which we carried out the greatest number of activities, many of them original. We built a vegetable garden, a hotel for insects, explored the sounds of nature and the invisible lines that connect us to all living beings. All of this was only possible with the support of a dedicated team, the support of the Agora Aveiro structure, its partners and, above all, the children and adults who try to take part in our activities.

For now, we close this chapter and reflect on the objectives achieved, but with the expectation of continuing to promote Environmental Education as a tool for protecting the environment and building a more sustainable future

“Guardiões da Natureza” is part of the Agora Aveiro’s project “Plantar o Futuro”. It is supported by Câmara Municipal de Aveiro and IPDJ - Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude I.P..
